Susan Blakey was ahead of the curve, you might say, in launching her blog, Une Femme d’um Certain Age, after noting the absence of conversation about style for women over 50. Susan’s style exudes a Paris sensibility. She looks effortlessly chic, with that air of confidence that comes with knowing who you are and not trying to impress everyone. Her fashion blog has expanded to include travel wardrobes and destinations. Escape with Susan and embrace her joie de vivre.
I just turned 50, I wear a size 3, or 26", I am very active, run a horse breeding farm, burns a lot of calories. I love wearing short skirts, low tops, and heels, plus bikinis. My favorite jeans are by Miss Me. I have had a couple of plastic surgery procedures, most people guesstimate me to be 35-40. I feel 25. I am updating my wardrobe, adding some leather pieces, and nice sweaters, but I will dress young as long as I can!

No list of top fashion blogs for women over 50 would be complete without mentioning Jennifer Connolly, a California-based Certified Image Consultant who initially started blogging to complement her work. While fashion blogs for mature women were fairly rare when she started five years ago, now the field is burgeoning, she says. “We’re the new fashion magazine for women our age,” Connolly says. “I started my blog to assist women online with free advice that I was charging my real life clients. There’s nothing out there in print for our age. It’s logical for it to end up on the internet.”
The long parade of more than 100 fashion shows for the spring 2020 season has concluded—but we're just getting started. The first order of business is discerning the most impactful trends of the season: from artisanal crochet and graphic polka dots to a look at decades past via disco collars and '60s wallpaper prints, couture feathers, hot pants, bold neons, and many more. See which designers led the pack for each new mode and get in on the looks early by shopping them now. Welcome to what's next.
I had wrinkles around my eyes and mouth and on one cheek (the one I sleep on). I've used Dermalmd cellulite treatment every night for almost 4 weeks and I can see a difference. The wrinkles at my mouth have reduced significantly, as have the ones on my cheek. The ones round the outside of my eyes are less noticeable and the black circles around my eyes are much improved! This serum great and goes on without any greasy feeling or stickiness. Also a little goes a long way. Happy to recommend.

You could call it the Tarantino effect as numerous designers harked back to the late '60s/early '70s with a free spirited take on their collections. From Alberta Ferretti's retro suede to Fendi's psychedelic touches and Rixo's full-blown recreation of Woodstock, the style icon for SS20 might just be found at the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood ranch.
We'll spare you the groundbreaking florals this season and instead, look to '60s and '70s wallpaper for your print fix. Retro prints ruled the runways—bringing both major color and pattern to all the top collections. Serving up mod home decor realness, vintage wallpaper (and couch) prints were channeled in the form of suiting at Prada and Marc Jacobs. Christopher Kane opted for a more psychedelic wallpaper print in the form of spring dresses, while Etro and Alberta Ferretti delivered a more bohemian-print option.
According to Dorrie Jacobson, Senior Style Bible was created to inspire a more modern approach to fashion. Dorrie is a retired Playboy Bunny, model, make-up artist and is considered an expert on aging with style. She is launching a lifestyle brand that celebrates older women. Dorrie is quoted as saying, “It’s important to have a signature style that is modern, fashionable and most importantly, still turns heads. My heart still skips a beat when I spy something I adore. If fashion has the power to do that, I’m happy to grow old, as long as I can do it looking great.”
Seems counterintuitive for a woman to put so many restrictions on other women and claim they are being supportive and helpful. Wearing the “right” clothing is about us learning what looks good on our particular bodies (that’s for all ages) not putting into place some social restrictive standard that will continue to put women in a box! Why are we still so bent on telling women what to do? Are we so jealous of the hot 50 year olds in bikinis that we have to use peer pressure tactics in order to compensate for our own insecurities? Come on women! We should be celebrating each other! Can I add, what the heck is wrong with florals???
Feedspot has a team of over 25 experts whose goal is to rank blogs, podcasts and youtube channels in several niche categories. Publishers submit their blogs or podcasts on Feedspot using the form at the top of this page. Our expert editorial team reviews and adds them to a relevant category list. Ranking is based on relevancy, blog post frequency(freshness), social metrics, domain authority, traffic and many other parameters. We routinely remove inactive blogs and those which are no longer relevant to a given list. List is updated as we receive new blog submissions and re-ranked every few weeks.
