According to Dorrie Jacobson, Senior Style Bible was created to inspire a more modern approach to fashion. Dorrie is a retired Playboy Bunny, model, make-up artist and is considered an expert on aging with style. She is launching a lifestyle brand that celebrates older women. Dorrie is quoted as saying, “It’s important to have a signature style that is modern, fashionable and most importantly, still turns heads. My heart still skips a beat when I spy something I adore. If fashion has the power to do that, I’m happy to grow old, as long as I can do it looking great.”
I had ditched those heels from hell you mention, but I have a ball to go to, where I am doing a book signing appearance, so (shhhhhh, don't tell my feet!) I have just had to buy another pair. Sigh! You have some very elegant outfits here. I am playing safe for my book signing and wearing a very fitted black cocktail dress with a little frill just on the knee. Going for the simple but elegant look. Wish me luck!

From Dolce & Gabbana's jungle-inspired collection to Max Mara's army outfits and the numerous bulky, pocket-heavy jackets seen at Hermes, Stella McCartney, Jonathan Simkhai and Bottega, there was an injection of safari-inspired fashion across the collections, which you can channel in everything from shirts and shorts to jackets and belt bags for the season ahead.

Before we share our selections for the top fashion blogs for women over 50, we think it appropriate to explain our mission. PrimeWomen.com was conceived as the response to a world of publications targeting women in their 20s and 30s -women just beginning their careers and finding their way in life, experimenting with fashion and trends. The ones to whom the fashion designers market shamelessly. At PRiME, we wanted to acknowledge and celebrate the fact those other publications seemed to conveniently overlook: The Prime Women generation spends $400 million more annually on consumer goods and services than any other generation. She is smart, successful and savvy. She has the financial stability to travel, invest, and be selective in her purchasing power.
Just as yellow reigned supreme on the autumn/winter catwalks, another bright colour was prevalent for the new season with designers across the cities injecting tangerine orange into their collections. Seen in ballgown form at Valentino and Emilia Wickstead, in day dresses at Stella McCartney and Rejina Pyo and in separates at Prada and Ferretti, there is no bolder way to brighten up your SS20 wardrobe.
Whether you’re looking for jeans, capris or open leg pants, you’ll discover them at VENUS. Many of the pants options have sewn-in control panels that smooth and slim your tummy, thighs and derriere. We'll spare you the groundbreaking florals this season and instead, look to '60s and '70s wallpaper for your print fix. Retro prints ruled the runways—bringing both major color and pattern to all the top collections. Serving up mod home decor realness, vintage wallpaper (and couch) prints were channeled in the form of suiting at Prada and Marc Jacobs. Christopher Kane opted for a more psychedelic wallpaper print in the form of spring dresses, while Etro and Alberta Ferretti delivered a more bohemian-print option.

Can women's fashion over fifty be fabulous? Most definitely. The fashion arena for mature women that once included muumuu dresses and ugly grandma sweaters is fortunately long gone! Today's mature woman feels, thinks, and looks younger than her age. She seeks out fashion-forward clothes that allow her to portray a confident, youthful, and vibrant image.
Much of the advice is okay, but in my opinion the need for advice is greater among younger women. Where I live, most women past 50 look far more stylish than many women in their twenties and thirties. And why do you say that "of course, our bikini days are over now"? I know women in their seventies and even eighties who still look great in a bikini.
If there's one thing that celebrity stylists agree upon it's that age has nothing to do with style. Great style is possible no matter how old you are—the key is knowing how to flaunt your body and sensibility in a way that works for you. Here, we've rounded up the most helpful tips from top stylists who have worked with chic sophisticates like Maye Musk, Oprah, and Christie Brinkley. Consider this your new guide as you navigate the complex world of fashion.

What’s fluoro pink, orange, blue, green, and yellow, and refuses to blend in with the crowd? All the highlighter-inspired neons gracing your favorite catwalks, from Tom Ford to Christopher John Rogers, and Courreges. Subtle may not be her specialty, but these vibrant shades pair wonderfully with black, white, or tan, and know how to make an entrance.
And just like that disco’s not dead. The wide collar favored by the Studio 54 set made a surprise comeback on the spring 2020 runways. Modernized on coats, jackets, and button-downs at Lanvin, Ferragamo, JW Anderson, and beyond, the look is often shown with contrasting colors to make it really stand out. Because what’s the point of a super collar if you can’t really see it?
